Saptami Celebrations Shine at Bangiya Samaj Puja Greater Noida
Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh:
The Greater Noida Bangiya Samaj’s first Durga Puja entered a vibrant new phase on Saptami, blending devotion, food, and music into a memorable community celebration.
Kolabau Snan (Nabapatrika) Ritual
The day began with the sacred Kolabau Snan (Nabapatrika) ritual, performed in strict adherence to Belur Math traditions. Devotees gathered at dawn to witness the ceremonial bathing and worship of Kolabau, marking the formal commencement of Durga Puja on Saptami. The atmosphere was filled with spirituality and reverence as mantras echoed across the pandal.
Bhog: A Taste of Bengali Tradition
In the afternoon, the organizers distributed Bhog, a signature element of Bengali Durga Puja. Hundreds of devotees lined up to relish the traditional offering of khichuri, labra, chutney, and payesh. Sharing the Bhog in long rows created not just a meal, but a communal experience of unity and devotion — one that carried the very soul of Bengal to Greater Noida.

Cultural Evening and Live Band
The evening gave way to a grand cultural program, where music, dance, and recitations filled the stage. The highlight was a live performance by the band Samantak & Mates. Their soulful songs and energetic rhythms had the crowd clapping and singing along, transforming the pandal into a lively hub of joy and festivity.

A Blend of Rituals and Modernity
Saptami thus reflected the essence of Durga Puja — a seamless blend of devotion, tradition, and celebration. From the morning’s sacred rituals and Bhog distribution to the evening’s cultural performances, the Greater Noida Bangiya Samaj’s debut Puja proved to be not only spiritually uplifting but also socially unifying.
